Founded in 2005, Detector Inspector is one of Australia’s original testing and maintenance suppliers for smoke alarms, gas appliances, commercial fire services and more. Our founders, Jason Radolnik and Jordan Kagan Gescheit were 19 years old and lifelong friends when they decided to start Detector Inspector in 2005. They came across an article in a Real Estate Institute publication about a tenant who sued their landlord after being injured in a house fire, because the smoke alarms at the rental property had been non-operational. Jason and Jordan set out to create a company that would protect tenants, landlords and agents in the event of an incident.
During the company’s start-up phase, Jason and Jordan worked out of their bedrooms at their respective parents’ houses, growing the business. On a day-to-day basis they were known to swap between their suits and Detector Inspector uniform, juggling all aspects of the business from sales to services, all while they were studying.
